Here is the answer to a question raised in a previous entry:
My mother went away this weekend to visit my aunt in Texas. My 17 year old brother was to stay with his dad for the weekend - yeah, right! Upon returning home last night, my mother (of 4) immediately knows things are amiss. Pillows are out of place, doors closed that were left open, garbage emptied (dead give away - kid never empties the garbage) and various other things. She is suspicious and calls my brother to find out what went on. He denies everything. Rookie manuever #1.
Mom eats and then settles into her favorite chair with a book. Suddenly, something under the table catches her eye. She reaches down and picks up...a condom wrapper. Rookie manuever #2.
Now Mom commences an all out search of the entire house, which produces many more goodies: Beer bottles, something that "looks likes weeds and flowers and has been smoked but is not pot," wet towels, etc, etc. Rookie manuever #3.
This morning Mom goes out to the trash and peeks in. He threw the "party" trash in his own can. Rookie maneuver #4.
I could go on and on about his rookie manuevers - like the fact he had people over the first time she went away, that he didn't triple check the house, that he didn't contain this adventure to one room...
Mom says she's done. He's been throwing attitude, threatening to "move in with dad." She says she'll help him pack. Yikes!
All's I know is, I hope the kid had a good day at school today. Because it's his last for awhile.
