Kiss Your Mother

A friend from work's mom passed away last night. This woman was just here at our school the Friday before vacation, laughing and watching a play put on by her daughter's class, and now she is gone. It is really affecting me, perhaps because my colleague is younger than I am, and mom's aren't supposed to die. I have been thinking about my own mom all day, and I cannot imagine what I would do if something happened to her - I mean, I talk to the woman practically every day. It really makes you appreciate the special people in your life.

Meanwhile, I am on the "Social Committee" here at work. We are trying to think of something special to do for our friend and her family during this difficult time. Ideas?
